Fernando is a member of the ASTD Board of Directors and the founder of CIELOS – Centro Iberoamericano the The Iberoamerican Center for Research and Studies of Organizational and Social Leadership, a non profit – non governmental organization.

He has been the keynote speaker, feature speaker, and trainer for professional congresses organized by worldwide organizations such as ASTD, the International Federation of Training and Development Organizations (IFTDO), the World Federation of Personnel Management Associations (WFPMA), International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), the World Chambers Federation (WFC), and UNESCO.
He was the 59th President of JCI, during which time he met with heads of states, prime ministers, ministers, dignitaries and country leaders of 67 nations. He has been the Chair of both the United Nations Leadership Summit held in NYC and the JCI World Congress held in Fukuoka, Japan.
