ASTD NY currently has a number of Special Interest Groups (SIG) and Committees that provide members the opportunity to connect with other learning professionals around certain interests and activities. SIGs allow members to explore the “hot” topics of our profession in more depth, while Committees allow members to contribute to and grow with the chapter by planning and executing special activities to support our membership, chapter and profession.

Book Club

Fascinating group of individuals representing some of the best of ASTD! We look to share insights we gain from articles, books and life experiences. A great place to meet people!

Coaching SIG

Speaks to members’ evolving needs to address T&D competencies, emerging trends, coaching skills and career opportunities.

e-Learning SIG

Meets to explore current topics in e-learning, share expertise, and compare experiences. Our meetings include product demonstrations, discussions, and speaker presentations.

Committees

Corporate Relations Committee

Strengthening the bond between corporate training departments and ASTD NY. Helps to meet their learning needs and shares resources/best practices across the community.

Events Committee

Plans and executes monthly evening events, quarterly workshops and networking sessions. Volunteers always welcome. Your role can be as large as creating an event, or as simple as greeting members and signing them in.

Membership Committee

Determines member needs, issues, and incentives. Provides recommendations and implements strategies based on findings. Volunteers welcome.

Newsletter Committee
